Lunacy?

I'm seriously considering signing up for [livejournal.com profile] marvel_bang, which I shouldn't, since I've never finished a fandom bang and probably shouldn't. It does not put food on the table and I've got my hands full with Safe.

Right.

To Do

Apr. 24th, 2012 10:13 am
scribblemyname: (future update: garden)

  • Beta ariesque's chapter before she gives up hope.

  • Wrangle a decent next chapter of Safe out of my muse.

  • Scribble a Four + Amar fic.

  • Finish Awake ficlet: "Coping Mechanisms."

  • Schedule drive test. :crosses fingers:

  • Write worldbuilding post on my tumblr. — Then again, maybe not.

  • Sign up for 100 posts for worldbuilding?

  • Write worldbuilding post for Rabia Gale.

  • Create Awake squee post. (This has subpoints.)

  • Update the MCAH wiki with today's meta.

  • Add in ficlet session stories to compilations.

  • Design cover for In This Wood.

  • Finish compilations.

  • Work on [livejournal.com profile] trovia's sports story.

This is not in any particular order.
scribblemyname: (beta: without you)
I don't talk the same on my blog for Liana Mir. Even when I crosspost, I can see the whole difference in tone. I didn't crosspost my last one. Why?

I like how much more of me comes out over here. There's a persona there that I just can't seem to shake, even if the only difference I know of is my topics. Here I can just be me and admit that I haven't finished reading a beta thing 'cause the beta muse is being persnickety and uncooperative.

Just a weird thing I noticed that officially puts my f-list on LJ at the top of my favorite places to hang out list. Just thought I'd mention.
scribblemyname: (I'm in the garden)
Not much going out anywhere, but that's primarily because I'm working today.

• Reading In the Family by [livejournal.com profile] pygmymuse
• Reading The Chase by [livejournal.com profile] rogue437
• Adapting most of The Domestics into original fiction in the Alliance universe
• Tracking down citations for my Primary Sources

See you all soon!
scribblemyname: (buried: under the rubble)
Well, in a word, busy. Playing catch-up. Working, reading, writing, editing (thanks again, [livejournal.com profile] in_the_blue!), submitting, etc.

Honestly, I'm still on the fence with what I'm going to do with my WIP fanfics and how I want to publish my original fiction. Submitting is great, but it locks up my stories for a long time. Some I'd rather just collect and publish independently, but at the same time, if the periodicals did buy them, I'd get a whole lot better cash flow.

Read some great stuff today: to all mutual friends of [livejournal.com profile] lithiumlaughter, hie thee over and read her original short story; it's amazing.

Also, sending hugs and blessings to those on my f-list I haven't said anything to recently (that whole where in the world have I been bit): [livejournal.com profile] trovia, [livejournal.com profile] stormkpr, [livejournal.com profile] xenokattz, [livejournal.com profile] mwffj, [livejournal.com profile] whipsy, [livejournal.com profile] ashmanda, [livejournal.com profile] alexmonalisa, [livejournal.com profile] lilacsigil, [livejournal.com profile] pygmymuse, [livejournal.com profile] rogue437, etc. Have fun and be blessed!

:salutes:
scribblemyname: (Christmas Tidings)
Merry Christmas to all of you, my lovely f-list! I love you all and pray that God bless you all immensely.

As for the holiday fics, well, um... I like [livejournal.com profile] xenokattz. Epiphany, anyone?

I'll do my level best to get some of these out sooner than that, but no promises. I do apologize. Much, much.

Dear Fandom Muse:

I love you dearly, and I love all the stories and ideas you've given me, and I always thought you liked me pretty well too. Right now, I'm not feeling the love.

You have given me absolutely nothing for all the fics I owe to folks, to say nothing of the Small Fandom Big Bang either. Please, please, please remember that I like these people and I like these fics, and I even more would like to write them.

Unhappily,
Your scribbler

So...

Tomorrow, maybe?
scribblemyname: (soon is relative)
Go figure. I guess it's all I'm up for. But I've been playing around in the sandboxes and I'm feeling like a traitor and felt like letting it off my chest.

To my lovely fics:

I do love you, oh fandom goodness! You taught me more about writing than my original fiction ever did (scary thought), but my interest is waning. Apparently, it takes characters as strong as Rogue and Gambit to hold my interest for long periods and I've been away from them for too long. I've been flirting with original fic and I think I'm going pretty steady now, but...

I have obligations. I promised not to leave my readers hanging forever (just indefinitely), and I've got too many fics I don't feel good about walking away from.

I know we've always agreed that writing is promiscuous and all that, but something's starting to get a little hard here in the juggling act.

To Vardin and the world of Summerlight:

I love you. You're ensemble and interesting and wonderful, and yet I'm not sure I know where you want to go and that scares me. I need something from you before I feel comfortable moving forward. I know we're both kind of new to this particular story, but we've been around the block over a dozen times before and afterward. Please show me the glue on this baby.

To the multitude of shorts begging me to write nonSummerlight Vardin:

Could you please, pretty please, be kind enough to wait your turn? Please?

To the Mirror:

Wow. You sort of showed up one day, threw every constant of my writing on its head and demanded satisfaction. Well, lovely little storyworld, you need to be patient and wait your turn like everybody else. No matter how many awesome stories and themes and characters you throw at me, no matter how many subplots and fascinating bits of worldbuilding possibility, I'm writing Vardin right now and I really need to focus.

Okay?

Okay.

Now that we have that off our chest...
scribblemyname: (coup fatal)
Congrats, everybody who is working and making progress and writing and creating beautiful things I should be commenting on. I'm reading some (not much) and commenting little (less) because right now, my schedule is more jammed packed then you would believe.

I'll still be posting because I've got lots to do and I do a lot of it here and on my other websites, but even that may slow (or increase, who knows?).

If you want to see my current stats for submitting my writing, it will be on Liana Mir on the sidebar.

If you want to read what I'm scribbling, the only comprehensive updating location will be [livejournal.com profile] 15_minute_draft, though stuff may show up here, at Liana, on my ff.net profile, or in comments (or nowhere else maybe).

Sorry, but hugs to you all! You are awesome!

I'll see you all in December!
scribblemyname: (dozing)
I've been excited to see all the Nano folks on my f-list. Love you all. Well wishes. Hoping not to lurk so badly after this meeting is over. (It's tonight and we're hitting production on a movie. A movie!) No promises. I also don't want so much pressure on myself, so...

Track all exact word counts of newly written material. Throw up all as scribbles on this journal. Exclude meta. See what happens.

All will be untimed scribbles. There will be no discrimination provided to fandom or original work or pen name.

And I've got a new one! Pearl Wise. Story on sub. Think good thoughts.

Here goes!
scribblemyname: (mood: jubilation)
1. I got a haircut. I asked the hairdresser to make it like the cut in my icon, but a little longer and without bangs. Love it.

2. Learned that I'm allergic to whatever the hairdresser used to straighten my hair. In the future, will take along my own product or ask her to pick another one and go lighter.

3. Took a break yesterday from writing.

4. Will try and update my little pieces floating everywhere today.

5. Thank you, everyone, for my little bits of happy. :hugs:
scribblemyname: (buried: under the rubble)
1. Feeling sick.

2. Still owe y'all next parts of By Any Other Name, To Be Wild, and Let Us Reason Together.

3. Discovered my new site has no statistics. :headdesk: Must install plugin. Tomorrow.

4. Must juggle pennies.

5. Cannot read my own handwriting. (This is a new and undelightful development.)

6. Got my hair cut. Yay!

Requesting cheeriness please: links, poetry, lovely thoughts, anything that has neither angst nor video.
scribblemyname: (loaded gun: wake up call)
What is it about writing something that matters that scares the mess out of me?!

I Live!

So...

1. I'm on the pretty list for [livejournal.com profile] femgenficathon! Though I admit I probably won't sign up for it again.

2. I got another review reminding me that, of all my fics, Son o' de Guild is the best, and I really ought to continue it. Promise to self: I will.

3. I've got enough work to do today to fill a week.

4. If I'm a bad girl, I'll probably squeeze fandom in anyway.

5. 52: Full Deck is finally drafted! This is a story of 52 words for the meaning of each card in a deck, and I've been working on it for far too long. It's off to beta with heavenmetal.

6. I really do need to get started on my Roswell/X-Men Movieverse crossover.

7. I decided that if a nice good fic exchange comes up that's still taking fandom signups, I want a crossover of the Secret Garden and Little Princess movies with Colin/Sarah and Mary/Dickon, grown up of course.

8. More about what face I want to give my readers. I'm reading up as I plot my launch of Liana Mir.

9. By the way, I am now totally in love with nori wraps.
scribblemyname: (future update: garden)
Scribbled a bunch of stuff in longhand for By Any Other Name, a prompt for [livejournal.com profile] rubynye, Token, To Be Wild, and some other stuff. Will try to get it posted shortly and update Let Us Reason Together. Tendonitis acting up. Will type more when I can.
scribblemyname: (reboot: sharpe)
I've done it. I've officially crossed over the "too thin" line of how far I can spread myself.

Brain is fried.
scribblemyname: (buried: under the rubble)
On:

"Let Us Reason Together" [1, 2] | Charles/Emma
"Dorm Daddy Driver's Ed" | Logan
"To Be Wild" [1, 2] | Raven
"By Any Other Name" | Hank/Raven

I just suddenly had RL get really, really busy.
scribblemyname: (tears: four)
You know it's bad when you're hiding from your inbox. All five of them.

Messages piling up. Updates from everybody you know and love and should be reading. Updates you have, but haven't gotten up yet. Comms to run. Top tens to post. Work that will pay you if you can figure out how to get it done (these will be my last sites to sign up to before asking someone else to sign up for ME).

To say nothing of stories to write: I've got them burning in my head, but getting them on paper is a freeze 'cause all the other stuff overwhelming me.

I want to declare general hiatus, but people are counting on me getting this stuff done.
